Subdivision Two
Re-Elect
Hi everyone! I am excited to share with you that I’m running for re-election for Trustee for the Regina Public School Board - Subdivision 2, and I am asking for your support on November 13.
Serving as Trustee for the past two years has been an incredible honour and privilege. It’s a job I take very seriously, and also love. Since being elected in the 2022 by-election, I’ve attended most School Community Council meetings (SCC), many community meetings, and wonderful events organized and hosted at the eight schools in SD2. I have worked closely with families, parents, students, community members, teachers, staff and school administrators.
What I love most about being your Trustee are the connections made and relationships built with everyone I interact with. This is the foundation in understanding what families, students and teachers/staff need. I listened, supported and helped as best I could.
I believe in community involvement and worked with the SCCs and community groups to cultivate and nurture a sense of belonging. I truly enjoy meeting people and talking about their value and importance to our education system, how they can contribute to foster good change and have impact. Those who I have met and chatted with know that I appreciate you and want to hear more of how we can continue to work together for the students.
Here’s a little bit more about me: I’m a Chartered Professional Accountant, and during my 23-year career in the public service, I’ve been a Director of Education Funding, worked in policy development and legislation, health promotion, treasury, red tape reduction and strategic planning. I’ve taught classes to future teachers at the University of Regina.
I’m also the proud Mom of two great kids who attend Regina Public Schools. What motivates me is having the best possible school system for ALL of our kids. This means supporting and promoting an inclusive environment where kids feel safe and like they belong. I am so warmly welcomed by the schools in my subdivision and so I get to see firsthand the incredible things the teachers, staff, Principals and Vice-Principals do and how amazing they are with the students and families.
My goal is to deliver competent and compassionate leadership as part of the Regina Public School Board. Our kids, our families, our education professionals and our community deserve it.
